Meet The Team: Cameron Hanson, Chief Operating Officer
Say hello to the man overseeing operations across Firmus’ growing portfolio of AI Factories, making sure we’re on track and built to last.

Meet Cameron Hanson, Chief Operating Officer: a proud Tasmanian and experienced power systems executive. Before joining Firmus Cameron spent 15 years in a senior leadership role with a Tasmanian-founded high-voltage engineering business. There, he helped deliver several gigawatts of substation projects across the National Electricity Market, leading teams of up to 50 internal and external staff in high-risk HV environments, with clients including TasNetworks, Electranet and SP AusNet.
Since joining Firmus, Cam has played a key role in growing the company’s operations — developing strong teams and helping move major projects from planning and construction into long-term operation. Today, he oversees operations across project delivery, construction, site operations, grid connections and energy, working closely with Firmus’ technology, engineering and delivery teams to keep priorities aligned and projects moving safely and efficiently across multiple sites at once.
“You could say I’m working on a bit of everything at Firmus. It’s about helping pull it all together from a portfolio perspective now, not just one site. I work closely with all our internal teams and prime contractors alike, making sure the same standards we set early on scale with us.”
For Cameron, what stands out most is where it all began.
“I’m incredibly proud that Firmus started in Tasmania. One of the most rewarding parts of what we are building is the opportunity to create skilled local jobs, support people to retrain, bring on apprentices and trainees, and build strong teams that can grow with the business.”
