At Firmus Technologies, we believe AI infrastructure should be as smart and dynamic as the intelligence it’s designed to power. We’re excited to announce the release of a new innovation, developed in collaboration with our partner Eaton, showcasing a groundbreaking R&D project: Synert.
Synert is a core component of the Firmus AI Factory—a reimagined data center designed for the next era of compute. In this video, we dive into how Synert, built with Eaton’s industry-leading EnergyAware UPS platform, is transforming energy-hungry AI factories from grid burdens into grid assets.
Traditional data centers were never designed for the workload demands of AI. Our AI Factories are fundamentally different: they’re token-producing machines with smelter-scale baseloads and rapid, unpredictable load shifts that stress energy grids worldwide. Grid stability is critical, and the sudden spikes and troughs of AI workloads can be immensely disruptive. That’s where our partnership with Eaton comes in.
Together, we’ve developed a Frequency Control Response system that transforms Eaton-powered UPS systems into real-time energy buffers, absorbing shocks between the AI Factory and the grid. This gives AI Factories the ability to support grid frequency, not destabilize it.
In Australia, we’ve already deployed this solution in production, where one of our Firmus AI Factory sites is:
This capability is natively integrated into AI FactoryOS™—our full-stack physical infrastructure intelligence platform, managing everything from silicon die to power draw. It ensures peak performance, maximum uptime, and the best possible TCO for token production.
Our AI Factory is a new class of data center, purpose-built for the demands of next-gen AI. With Synert, we’re showing that energy efficiency and AI scale can go hand in hand.
We’re proud to work alongside Eaton to make this possible—and excited to share how this collaboration is reshaping the energy equation for AI at scale.
