( 1 ) Up to 50% more cost effective than other public clouds in Australia

            Comparative Data:

Comparison made on 10 August 2022, based on publicly available information sourced from https://aws.com, https://cloud.google.com, https://azure.microsoft.com and https://paperspace.com. Pricing is based off reference prices or published where noted, and may not reflect the actual cost incurred by users of competing services. Comparative costs are made on cumulative compute and data egress charges as noted in each comparative case. All prices noted are represented in AUD at a rate of AUDUSD = $0.695

            Compute Methodology & Assumptions:

            • aws.com: US East (N. Virginia), Linux, 1 x p4d.24xlarge (96 vCPU, 1152GB, 8 x A100). On-demand price tier: AUD$47.15
            • supercloud.co: Australia (South 1), Ubuntu, custom image (96 vCPU, 1024GB, 8 x A100), On-demand price tier: AUD$30.24

            ( 2 ) Up to 6 x Less CO2 than other Australian clouds

            Comparative Data:

Emissions factors (kg CO2-e/kWh) based on scope 2 emissions indirect emissions for consumption of purchased electricity from the grid, Australian National Greenhouse Accounts Factors 2021 (https://www.industry.gov.au/). The emissions factors for ‘other Australian clouds’ is based on the 2021 mean average across each of the Australian states of NSW/ACT, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, NT of 658.75g CO2-e/kWh. The emissions factors for Supercloud is based on the 2021 average for the Australian state of TAS of 160g of CO2-e/kWh.

Other Australian Data Cloud PUE taken to be the average PUE of published or publicly available data for cloud data centres operating in Australia, from https://nabers.gov.au, https://nextdc.com/frost-radar-report; of 1.486. Supercloud hosted PUE data based on Australian (South 1) Cloud Region, LST Campus, sustained 6 month PUE of 1.03.

            Calculation Methodology

For the purpose of this calculation total power load is inclusive of the effect of supporting the compute IT load, including ancillary services that factor into overall PUE. Multiples compared on a basis of 1kW, where CO2 as calculation for this comparison, per hour is: (1kW x average emissions factors x average PUE)

            • ‘other Australian clouds’: 1 x 0.658 x 1.480 = 1.195kg CO2-e/kWh
            • Supercloud: 1 x 0.160 x 1.03 = 0.163kg CO2-e/kWh
